Let people know that help is here
Do you know someone who is struggling with their grief, and/or who might appreciate attending one of our events? Please share the links to our blog. It’s got lots of resources and things to read, and there is information about the Living with Loss retreats. The blog is updated weekly. www.avalleyjournal.co.uk
Spread the word about the retreats
We lack funds for proper advertising, but there are lots of ways to spread the word. Do you
- attend a church?
- attend a community centre?
- take part in a club or coffee group?
If so, would you like to download this poster (A4 PDF), print it out and put it up? The poster has basic information about the retreats.
If you don’t have the ability to print it out, but you’d like to help with this, please let me know and I can post you out a few copies.
Get in touch about hosting a workshop at your church or community centre
In addition to the retreats, we also run day and weekend workshops. At your invitation, we can come and lead the event, bringing all of the materials. All you need to do is provide the location and advertise it locally to those who you think would be interested. (And we need our expenses covered, etc…) Ashtead was the most recent place where we ran a weekend workshop. Sharon, who invited us to her parish wrote afterwards:

Abi led it in such a sensitive and moving way, that all who came, left feeling that they had significantly found a new way of coping with their grief. I would recommend it to anyone who feels they need a safe place to express their grief and are looking for a way, to help them see hope as they journey on.”

Send us your ideas and suggestions!
We’re open to ideas of new locations to run events, but we are particularly looking now for places to give talks and in other ways raise awareness.
Perhaps you have some further suggestions for us. If so, it would be great to hear from you.
Going forward, we would really like to find places and sponsorship so that at least some of our Living with Loss events would be inexpensive or even free for those participating. Ideas about that are particularly welcome.

Our Living with Loss project is definitely not a commercial enterprise. While we do receive some money for expenses from the host locations where we run our retreats, this doesn’t cover everything we do. On occasion we receive donations from well-wishers, and these are very much appreciated as they help us keep going. If you would like to support our project by offering support, you are most welcome.
